Located in Santa Cristina d'Aro, in the heart of the Costa Brava, our guesthouse is an excellent starting point for exploring Catalonia by bicycle. Between coastal roads, winding inland routes, medieval villages, and the foothills of the Pyrenees, there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful rides.
And here, you are welcomed by hosts who know the passion for motorcycles: we are bikers ourselves!

We know that after a great day on the road, you appreciate being able to find your motorcycle in a quiet and safe place.
Can Gavarres has a private gate and parking inside the property, allowing you to park your motorcycles and bicycles inside the house, away from outside traffic.
This allows you to enjoy your evening and rest without worrying about parking your machine.
Whether you travel by roadster, trail, GT, sports car, custom car or bicycle, you will find with us a welcome adapted to your way of traveling.
A stop designed for two-wheeled travelers
A road trip also involves stops, clothes to refresh, some things to dry and sometimes the need to do laundry before hitting the road again.
A washing machine is available upon request. A very handy service when traveling for several days with limited luggage!
You will also enjoy our air-conditioned rooms, gourmet breakfast, swimming pool and the various relaxation areas of the house.
And after the miles, what could be more pleasant than returning to a Mediterranean garden, relaxing by the pool and sharing a drink while reminiscing about the day's twists and turns?
The Costa Brava: a fantastic playground for motorcyclists
Santa Cristina d'Aro enjoys a particularly interesting location for discovering the most beautiful roads in the region.
1. The legendary route: Tossa de Mar – Sant Feliu de Guíxols
This is probably one of the most attractive routes on the Costa Brava for motorcycle enthusiasts.
The GI-682 winds its way between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, with a succession of bends, passages through pine forests and superb openings onto the Mediterranean.
A route to savor at a leisurely pace, taking the time to stop at viewpoints and discover small coves.
2. The hinterland: Llagostera, Romanyà de la Selva and the small roads of Gavarres
For those who prefer quieter roads, the hinterland holds some very pleasant surprises.
Leaving Santa Cristina d'Aro, you can reach Llagostera, discover Romanyà de la Selva and continue along the small roads that cross the wooded landscapes of the Gavarres massif.
Another side of Catalonia, more rural, more intimate, with its masias, stone villages and Mediterranean landscapes.
3. Empordà: Medieval villages and scenic routes
Going north, discover Calonge, Palamós, Palafrugell, Begur, Pals and Peratallada.
The roads alternate between countryside, vineyards, medieval villages and small coastal sections.
A great opportunity to enjoy a gourmet break, explore local markets or sit down on a terrace for lunch.
4. Girona and the inland roads
Girona is well worth a visit. Its historic center, medieval streets and terraces make it a pleasant stop.
To extend the ride, you can continue towards Banyoles, Besalú or La Garrotxa, with its volcanic landscapes and hilly roads.
Motorcyclists with more time can even organize a day trip to Olot, Camprodon and the first major passes of the Pyrenees.
A great day of motorcycling also ends at the table!
Catalonia is a land of gastronomy. And around Santa Cristina d'Aro, there is no shortage of good restaurants.
Nearby you will find traditional Catalan restaurants, grills, Mediterranean restaurants, fish and seafood, as well as some lovely places to extend the evening.
In Santa Cristina d'Aro and the surrounding area, several establishments offer the opportunity to discover local cuisine. Sant Feliu de Guíxols and Platja d'Aro also offer a wider selection of seaside dining options or lively evenings out.
We will be happy to share our favorite places and advise you according to your preferences: Catalan cuisine, fish, tapas, grilled meats or a more gourmet restaurant.
An ideal location for reaching the Costa Brava
Can Gavarres is located near several major cities and transport routes:
- Sant Feliu de Guíxols: approximately 8 to 10 km.
- Girona: approximately 20 km.
- Perpignan: approximately 125 km.
- Barcelona: approximately 100 to 110 km.
The house is therefore a great stopover for motorcyclists crossing Catalonia, joining Spain from France or wishing to spend several days exploring the Costa Brava.
And what about after the road?
People don't come to Can Gavarres just to sleep.
We enjoy the pool, the outdoor lounges, the shaded terrace and the veranda. We share a drink, exchange impressions of the day's routes and are already planning the next outing.
In the morning, a good breakfast allows you to hit the road in the best conditions.
